Testimonials

Clayton is an experienced and wonderful fine art teacher. He focuses on individual student even though it's a group setting in his studio. Each student is actually working on a different project, similar sketching or painting, etc. He patrols around and gives his individual attention to each educatee and corrects / supports / teaches them one by 1. My daughter wanted to employ to SOTA through DSA which required the candidate to go through on-the-spot drawing examination. Since she didn't acquire that in school, I wanted her to get some skills to exist able to achieve her goals. When I googled, Classical Realism seemed similar the perfect match. I went and met Clayton and found his studio very conducive to learning. My daughter loved his classes. Clayton is flexible and his teachings are customised, which is the all-time part. He is as well very helpful and prompt. My girl finally got into SOTA and a large thanks to Clayton for his help in teaching sketching basics. I will highly recommend his classes.

This review is long-overdue....Excellent teaching in the about comfortable setting one tin can ever ask for! My son has been with Clayton for almost a year now and his skills take improved tremendously nether Clayton's guidance and teaching. Before joining Clayton, he was hardly comfortable with observational drawing but that totally changed after joining the classes. He was inspired and continued to sketch random things from everyday life outside of the classroom setting. I'm likewise impressed with the number of new artworks (quality pieces) he could produce calendar week later week. In less than vi months, he was able to develop a portfolio that was skilful enough for submission to SOTA. It was a successful awarding and my son was offered a place in SOTA somewhen. Whether you are serious about developing a great portfolio for yourself; a beginner; or a serious amateur artist wanting to develop your skills to yet another level, Clayton is the perfect teacher to go to!

I was rejected past NUS while doing my National Service and decided to enrol in Clayton's classes in guild to build a portfolio for the side by side round of application. With Clayton'south unwavering support and guidance, I managed to create a substantial portfolio for my application and was finally accustomed into NUS Architecture. This definitely would not have been possible without Clayton's constant help and guidance. At that place is simply so much to acquire from him. If someone is looking to learn cartoon/painting or to improve an already amazing power, Clayton is definitely the one to acquire from. An affectionate, dedicated and extremely knowledgeable instructor, Clayton makes lessons enjoyable however challenging at the aforementioned time. I believe that Clayton makes a groovy contribution to Singapore and can continue to practise and then in the years to come.

Clayton has helped tremendously with my art progress throughout my twelvemonth there, both in pencil sketching and painting. He's a patient teacher with really helpful tips and tricks that helped increase my knowledge and skill in art. His studio is a great environment to learn in as other students work difficult on their pieces and help motivate one another. Also the light music in the background was helpful. Thank y'all Clayton, it was a smashing experience learning from a super defended and fun teacher!

I but started learning from Clayton recently and I enjoy every session. Clayton is thorough and most importantly patient when teaching. Drawing has been almost therapeutic, And I savor the chats we accept while cartoon. I'd reccomend Clayton to anyone who is willing to put in the work and learn. Even if you're a newbie like myself. Thank you Clayton. Am looking forward to more lessons. Irving

Clayton was the most inspiring teacher and friend that a student could accept always asked for. He provided a very comfortable and inspired space where I could feel at ease to practice and experiment with a multifariousness of mediums, one of my favorites while working with him was oil paint. While having a very tough year health wise, I decided to non only take a break from classes but also schoolhouse. Even though I was in a bad status beingness very unwell, Clayton managed to convince me to carry on with his classes by beingness so all-around to the situation that I was in, Clayton carried on pushing me to achieve the very best that I could despite the situation that I was in considering he had promise in me and saw that I had the power to however achieve what I was aiming for, something that not many people could see. Without Clayton, I would have never learnt the skills that I now know today, his techniques were absolutely brilliant and have already started to exist of slap-up employ in this next chapter of my life. I would have never done my GCSE's and gotten an A* and I would have never found a distraction for the pain. He turned my awful year into the very best that it could be so thanks Clayton! And for anyone reading this he really is a very talented man and brilliant at what he does. Every lesson with him is full of fun, experimenting and learning new techniques. During the process of moving countries I started to panic that I would never observe a teacher as inspiring and dedicated to his students every bit Clayton and Since moving I have realized that that was truthful, no ane volition e'er be equally good.

I started these classes (as an action with the spouse) with no knowledge about painting, let lone something as mystifying as oil paints. All the same, afterward the offset session with Clayton, I learned how to create a pretty decent picture show using just two colours. He taught u.s.a. how to sketch a 3D shape, how to mix but black and white to get a spectrum of greys used in creating calorie-free and shadow, which brushes to use and where to begin when painting. I constitute the 3-60 minutes session extremely enjoyable and it made me feel like I'd really learnt a new skill. Over the months, I've seen my paintings improve with the advice Clayton gives. He doesn't overwhelm you with unnecessary jargon, and is able to pinpoint what needs tweaking and gives practical advice on how to do that. There is a wide range of creative skills in each class but every educatee is given specialized attending. No ane is always made to experience similar they cannot draw or paint. A fantastic class for anyone to attend whether it'southward to fine-tune their skills or just to spend an afternoon destressing.

When I was a child, I "knew" I couldn't pigment. I "knew" that, because another kids could, and information technology seemed to just flow for them, whereas I seemed stuck in the same shapes, lines and colours from the historic period of about 6.

So, I sort of gave up on the idea of ever painting. Wasn't something I could do.

As I grew older I began to realise that everyone can learn technique, whether it'south technique for sports, or music, or exams or.... art?

I idea maybe I should requite a class a get. Maybe I'd only confirm my ineptitude. Closure in a sure mode.

Class one : paint a cube! It was a little shaky. But I realised one thing on the starting time 24-hour interval, simply using black and white and creating shades (or "values" :) ) of everything in between, I could create the impression of depth. Of a sudden, the strokes of a brush and the pick of a different value of grey to the one adjacent to it, made me run across "something" on the sheet. Thanks Clayton! First of many subsequent moments of enlightenment.

I progressed. Cylinder! Still, one of my favourite pieces. It simply stood out against the groundwork. I realised that I also had astonishing flexibility to define what I thought should be in the picture, and what I could include to help me stop a coherent work. Didn't take to exist exactly everything before me, I could make progress and bring it to a finish.

Afterwards a few classes, I started on organic forms, basically faces, and fruit. A few times I thought, this is just going to end in disaster. Even so, a helping impulse from Clayton and the piece would come together again. I realised that learning as a journey was enjoyable  and that it would never exist perfect. It would just be very fulfilling.

I haven't taken as many classes as I would like due to the usual distractions in life, merely I feel i have belatedly started a journey that we should all begin, the one to express ourselves visually. Technique gives us construction, practice gives us conviction, results give us pride.

Thanks, Clayton. You got me started.

I started to take Clayton's class last year and am rather pleased with my progress over the time nether his guidance. I came to him without much background in drawing and he helped me institute a good foundation in realism drawing. His methodologies too develop students' observational skills. Clayton's noesis is extensive and he transfers his sophisticated knowledge through easy to understand explanation and sit-in to brand sure yous get information technology. The cute studio instantly prepare you in art mode and 3 hours passes by without y'all realising it. I'one thousand leaving Singapore for now. If I always return, volition definitely resume my class there.

I'm a educatee who have passion in fine art, and had planed to go to NAFA. I've been learned drawing in Classical Realism Singapore for half a year, and the teacher there helped me a lot! I started from cartoon the basic shapes with pencils at the kickoff, and now I can draw something complex. The teacher there teaches very well that I'g not boring during his classes. It'due south really grateful that I passed the admission exam from NAFA, and I can get to art school now.

After a long search for a competent art teacher (information technology took several years), we discovered Clayton last year and since then nosotros take been visiting his cute studio almost every weekend. Clayton is a patient and nurturing instructor. He is passionate about his craft and focuses his students' attention on developing the fundamental techniques in classical realism. Clayton is a highly qualified and true professional art teacher; a rare find.

Fine art classes with Clayton has improved my observation and appreciaition for my surroundings whether its the sky or dissimilar shades of shadow. Incredible patience and professionalism from him. He works with different levels of 'talents' and fifty-fifty my family members were surpised with what I take produced. Keep it up Clayton and thanks for making Singapore your home!! God bless

:D really enjoyed the lessons! I wasn't familiar with traditional art when i beginning joined, but Mr Clayton was very patient with me and i improved within a short catamenia of fourth dimension. He is very dainty to all the students no thing what their skill level is, and gives each of them personalized feedback. Loved the atmosphere of the studio, too, it is quiet well-nigh of the time and i can concentrate on my work. x/10

I am privileged to have learned under Clayton and benefited from the higher standard he pushed me to for nonetheless life oil painting. I felt I grew!
